  • Nothing about the school negatively impressed me.
  • My interviewer gaslighted me the entire time. She dismissed my personal experiences. She pretty much said representation doesnโ€™t matter in medicine. Such a dangerous mindset to have- to be able to excuse patients hardships just because you were privileged enough to not have to deal with those issues. I asked a few students about their experience at VCOM and they described it as โ€˜backwardsโ€™ and that they were soely here for the degree but leaving once they graduated. They had positive things to say about the faculty though so maybe my interviewer was just having a bad day.

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

Applicants commonly wish they had known not to apply to multiple VCOM schools on AACOMAS as they will only be considered for one school, and to prepare for long, 3- 30 minute interviews that can be time-consuming on their computer.
